SYNOPSIS
One of the most important literary works on ancient India, the legendary epic about good and evil, honesty, devotion, perserverance, fidelity, bravery, honour, duty and valour.

Ramayana tells of the story Rama and Sita, the Prince and Princess, who are banished from the kingdom with Rama’s brother, Lakshmana. Together they live in the forest, where Ravana, the king of Langka, abducts Sita and brings her back to his palace.
A harrowing attempt by Rama and Lakshmana, together with the assistance of Hanuman and the monkey army to save Sita from Ravana ensues. After a great battle, Ravana is killed and Sita is reunited with Rama.

Told through the medium of dance theatre, this programme will delight audiences with its unique display of dances with music and costumes. More importantly, audiences understand how these legends, tales and folklores came about and became an intrinsic part of the people’s culture, tradition and belief system.

Recommended for Primary and Secondary students.
