Esplanade's 1942-seat Theatre is an adaptation of the traditional horseshoe form of European opera houses, which provides an intimate setting between the audience and the artists on stage. Spread over four levels, it houses Singapore's largest stage, and is designed for the presentation of Asian and Western performing arts as well as advanced multi-media performances. The Theatre's feature include an adjustable proscenium arch, two other full-sized ancillary stages which facilitate swift scene changes, a 30m high fly tower, and an adjustable orchestra pit that can hold up to 100 musicians.
